ODHC Business Meeting - September 9, 2017

We're coming to the Tidewater area!
The next ODHC Business Meeting will be Sept. 9 at 11:00 a.m., hosted by Brass Cannon Brewing, 5476 Mooretown Road, Williamsburg, VA.
All ODHC members AND non-members are welcome to attend!

ODHC Business Meeting - April 8, 2017

Per Chairman Randy Green -
The next meeting will be held on Saturday, 8 April at the Vanish Brewery, 42245 Black Hops Lane, Leesburg, VA  20176.  Due to the popularity of the venue, the meeting will start at 1100.  The brewery is located on US Rt15 about 10 miles north of Leesburg just past the traffic light in the village of Lucketts.    Details are contained in the attached agenda.  Following the business meeting, we will have a tour of the brewery and the Organarchy hop processing facility.  This is a great opportunity for growers to see a hop processing facility and make connections with a hop processor.  Conference call information many be found in the meeting agenda (see link).

Save the Dates
The post harvest business meeting will be held on Saturday 9 September in the Williamsburg, VA; time and site to be determined.  The Annual Business Meeting (Officer and Board election) will be held on Saturday, 18 November at CitySpace, Charlottesville, VA starting at 1pm.   Any producer member interested in serving in a leadership position in ODHC for 2018 should contact Randy Green, Chairman, greendiamondhops@hotmail.com

Operating Committees
The key operating committees, Marketing, and Publicity,  Finance and Grants, and Operating Agreements are looking for volunteers.  This is a great way to become involved with the operation of your cooperative.  The Operating Agreements committee is in need of a Chairperson.  Please contact any Board Member with your offers of volunteer assistance. 

Dues
Annual Membership Dues are now payable.  $40/Producer members (180 plus plants); $20/Associate members (0-179 plants).  Membership dues represent a significant portion of the Cooperative's operating budget and are vital to our continued existence as an agribusiness.   Checks may be sent to Kurt Stanfield, 1243 Mall Drive, North Chesterfield, VA  23235. 

Coop Meeting January 28th, 2017

Our first business meeting of 2017 will be held on Saturday, 28 January.  Board Member Walt Hopkins has agreed to host this meeting at Cave Hill Farm, 1001 Jacob Burner Road, McGaheysville, VA.  The farm is near Harrisonburg and is in keeping with the Cooperative's objective of holding meetings at different locations across the state.  Among other businesses, Walt and Lisa operate a bed and breakfast at Cave Hill Farm.  Anyone wishing overnight lodging following the meeting should contact Walt (walthopkins@cavehillcorp.com ) for details.  The meeting agenda will be published prior to the meeting.

South Atlantic Hops Conference - March 4 & 5 in Richmond

This two day event will kick-off on Friday with a tour of local hop yards followed by a brewery tour. You will have an opportunity to purchase dinner during the brewery tour. Saturday will be a day full of educational programs and a trade show. Check out our great line-up of presentations and speakers (agenda is still being developed). 
James Altwies of Gorst Valley Hops will be the featured speaker.

Old Dominion Hops Co-Op Meeting - November 21 in Charlottesville

At this business meeting of the Old Dominion Hops Cooperative we will elect officers and board members for 2016. In addition we will review the success of the recent Hops In The Park event and discuss the upcoming South Atlantic Hops Conferece. Hops In The Park - November 14

On Saturday, November 14th, 2015, The Citie of Henricus opens its doors to the public for the first annual HOPS in the PARK Harvest Festival, to benefit the Henricus Historical Park and The Old Dominion Hops Cooperative.

Visitors will have the opportunity to try beer or mead that celebrate Virginia agriculture.

Each brewery or meadery must use at least one Virginia-harvested product in their beer or wine to participate in the HOPS in the PARK festival. For more information go to
